Josef Della Grotte

With his unique training in psychology, tai chi, yoga, Feldenkrais and Rolf technique, Dr. Josef DellaGrotte, a certified Feldenkrais Method practitioner and trainer, has developed Core Movement Integration (CMI), a new synthesis of this integrative paradigm. Derived from the concepts of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, CMI organizes movement into six core movement pathways to create “maps” that connect the body’s core, the physiological and energy center of the body and its surrounding structures, to the ground, spine, limbs, upper torso and head. These pathways provide the most efficient way of moving while simultaneously allowing the body to lengthen and become more flexible.

Through classes and seminars for medical professionals, Dr. DelleGrotte has trained massage therapists, physical and occupational therapists, Feldenkrais practitioners, nurses and MDs in CMI in the Boston area. He has also trained a large group of Italian body workers with twice yearly seminars in the Bologna area. Dr. DellaGrotte also maintains a neuromuscular therapy/Feldenkrais Method practice in Newton and Barre, Massachusetts where he teaches CMI classes and treats clients.
